All of those are good points. I have been debating whether or not to put the chiller on one of these controllers anyway. I have heard horror stories of chillers buring out, but nothing on them not turning off (and I could have the lights go out if the temp were to raise). The 1500 is only accurate +- 1 degree celcius, so it would be nice to keep it more accurate, but may not end up necessary. I hear so many horror stories about heaters sticking on that I want an extra controller on them. I've read that some set the heater just a little higher... so that if the controller failed it would still have heat... but what confused me is, can the controller itself get stuck in an OFF or ON mode that would negate the safety aspect? If I could depend on one of these controllers to shut the heaters off, and decide that the chiller protection is unnecessary for my setup (which doesn't go up more than about 4 degrees without the chiller) I might be able to get away with one DC8!
