Bluespotted Boxfish

I ordered the bluespotted boxfish on diver's den and it looks amazing. I was just inquiring to ask how long he has been quarantined and how he is eating because I know sometimes they can be a little finicky.

Also, do you feel he would fit better in my 200 Fish only with puffers, triggers and a huge emperor angel or in my 75 gallon mixed reef with only a small sailfin tang and a clownfish?

Thanks, I look forward to it's Tuesday delivery,
Mel

FishyMel,

Thank you for your inquiry and recent LiveAquaria order. We are checking with our Aquaculture Coral and Marine Life Facility regarding quarantine and recommended housing information requested on the Bluespotted Boxfish. We will post that information when we have it available for you. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Mel,

Thank you for your patience while we obtained this information. The Bluespotted Boxfish has been in quarantine with us since late November and has been eating frozen spirulina-enriched Brine and Mysis Shrimp very well. We would recommend caution adding this fish to an aquarium with a Triggerfish. The reef aquarium may be a wonderful place for this fish as long as you keep in mind that the Boxfish does eat crustaceans. We hope that this beautiful fish will find a safe and wonderful home in your aquarium.

That sounds great! He looks very good and it sounds like he'll be best in my reef. I don't have any crustaceans, only corals and I am willing to sell the coral off that he thinks is food. :D

Thanks,
Mel
