Doing some web searching on clowns I came across some references to Blue Stripe Cinnamon Clowns, and Bluestriped Tomato Clowns.

It was clear from the context that they weren't referring to Amphiprion chrysopterus.

Anyone got any infomation? Other the vague references, I cant find any.

I have come across melanopus (cinnamon) clowns that had a bluish stripe similar to chrysopterus. The blue was not quite as dramatic as a chrysopterus, more like an akindynos and sort of dependent on the lighting and mood of the fish. There is a pic of a melanopus with a blue stripe in my Fautin/Allen book. The caption says its from the Great Barrier Reef. I don't know where the fish came from that I saw, but I doubt it was from Australia.

I don't remember seeing any tomato clowns that appeared to have blue stripes, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
