Bluestriped Pipefish x Lawnmower Blenny

I have a nice small Bluestriped Pipefish in a 80 gl reef and would like to add a Lawnmower Blenny. Many websites (Marine Depot Live, LA, etc) does not mention any incompatibility, but Marine Center does and it is very especific: "Never keep with seahorses or pipefishes"

Does anyone know if it really will be a problem ?

That's good LMK haw it go's for you you will be happy with him in you pipe tank and your SH tank if you ever get one.

lfduty,

Actually it is not a pipe tank. It is a 80 gl SPS/LPS tank with a sunburst anthias, a hepatus, an ocellaris, two other blennies and many gobies. But the Bluestriped goes very well with them.

Well, I have a LM blenny who's killed more fish than I have left alive. Some of them can be VERY aggressive. Depends on the fish. I've heard/read other threads on here about LM blenny's attacking sea horses. A pipefish might be safer because they can hide easier. FWIW though, I fully intend to trap and take my LMB to the LFS when I do the tank upgrade. I will never, ever, get another one of these fish. Meanest darned vegetarian I've ever met in my life.

Iv never had a LM kill a SH or a pipe in 23years.
wcpeixoto nice looking pipefish I have 4 of them and love them in my 150g But you never see them untill its time to eat and i put some pod's in the tank
