I really like the low shot , looking upwards, with the pumps off and the reflection of the rock work coming from the surface.
Very nice!

First off, let me say that is the best aquascaping I have ever seen and is exactly the model I was looking for but couldn't wrap my brain around how to actually pull it off. THANKS!

I was wondering, when you started the tank, did you use dead base rock? It looked very white.

The reason I ask is I have a bunch of dead base from other people who have had tank crashes and given up the hobby. I am setting up a room divider aquarium and thought about doing a double version of your scape...one on either end and starting with the dead stuff as it would be a lot easier to glue and mount.

Whatcha think?

Also, is that live sand on the bottom or just aragonite?

The rock was purchased live, it was just very well cured and sitting in a tub at my LFS, thats why it looked so white. I think working with dry "dead" rock would have been way more easier to work with. The advantage would be not worrying about the live rock drying out and can take your time with the rock structure, disadvantage of course would be not having all the instant beneficial bacteria live rock would provide. My sand is Aragonite and I'm sure very well live now.

Good luck with your aquascape, and have fun while building it. It's funny how I have noticed my final structure always resemble what mood i was in while I'm building it.

Hi, I am setting up a tank with the exact same dimensions as you and I was curious as to whether or not you needed to reinforce your floor at all to accommodate the extra weight of the tank?
It looks as if you have it up against and outside, weight bearing wall. I will also have mine up against a outside weight bearing wall on the first floor of a condo. I think there is a basement underneath, but I'm not 100% sure.
Do you think I need to look in to hiring a structural engineer to determine if I'll be okay?

Sorry, i hope someone else can chime in and answer that for you. My floor is concrete, but i do think you should find out if there is a basement or not. I do believe It's always a good idea to reinforce when necessary.
