Hey shawn I got a couple extra 2lf phosban reactors sitting around here is u want u can have 1. Might even have an extra 12 or 800 to run it. I really like it for gfo or carbon. Also have a brs reactoe that I ran carbon and gfo in together. Worked good although the gfo lasts quite a bit longer than the carbon..
If your going with the marineland stand they are very short and have a small door to work with. Mine was upgraded by the best guy around. Raised it 14 inches it looks sweet. Added a side door the removable. Love it. Thanks Jeff. I love the tank. I would opt for your own plumbing as the required is a bit nosiey. The silicone work looks solid and is holding with issues. The only bad is the very thin layer at the outer edges. If you hit it, it shreds and takes chunks out. It's only this thin layer.
Well it's time to fess up. Things in my system habe not been going well at all I've been ashamed to even talk about it. I've tried and tried. I'm at the point of being out completely but have decided instead to do a complete reboot on the cube. Plans
New sump custom with better baffles and Refugium section
New rock work with fresh cycled rock. Been 1 month going so far
New pumps installed
Calcium reactor
Complete rerunning of the wires and controller
New skimmer ( already running)
New livestock path.........I have no idea
New substrate something more fine
I think this might be the way to keep me in the hobby. We will see. Wish me luck. The tank is coming down this weekend and the live stock going into a temporary tank. It's just fish and a few hardy corals that are left. I'm sellng the rest of my stuff.
do you know approximately when things started to go south? Was it when you were experimenting with different lighting? I know you were having some issues with carbon or some additives?
Things started down hill about 6 months ago. I changed out my pumps for the Jebao pumps and my corals started down hill afterwards. I think they are really the culprit. Stray voltage maybe. One pump when down and way overheated in the tank. They need constant cleaning and don't seem to run right all the time. I'm also changing them out.
Well on a good note. With the reboot also comes a new toy. I will hopefully be picking up a Maxspect Gyre pump this weekend. Everything else is going away. Why run the, all when I can run the Maxspect. So looking forward to it. The tank is being taken down on Sat.
