Bought my first equipment

Ok, so I posted a while about back the difference in which lighting I should buy etc., and the most general response I got was upgrade my 55g to a 75g. Which didn't answer my question at all but regardless here I am.

I have decieded to go with a 75g after all. I was able to buy a brand new 75g w/ built in corner overflow drilled and oak stand for $370 from my LFS. I decieded to go with a 75g because I can house some bigger fish maybe, or I can just have more little fish if I want.

Luckily for my Premium Aquatics happens to be down the street from my house, so yesterday I went over there for their few hour window of walk in business, and talked out my ideas and also got many many ideas on what I needed to buy and what would be best for my setup.

I ended up going with a <a href="http://www.petstore.com/ps_viewitem.aspx?idproduct=ER1413">Euroreef RS80 Protein SKimmer</a> skimmer for $249.99. I also bought from there my <a href="http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=AT-TX54800&Category_Code=Aquactinics">T-5 Lighting</a> setup.

I was currious to see what people thought about my purchase and if they have used any of the equipment that I bought and what their experiences where with it.

Thanks,
Greg

personally.. whats the depth ( front to back ) of your tank? isinst a 75 gallon tank 18 inchs from front to back? that light setup is only 9 inchs wide.. personally i think your going to be shining a little short in some places.

just my 2 cents.
but this also depends on how high your lights are above the water

I think you did pretty good. Looks like you want to do what I did, get better stuff the 1st time around.

In case you're interested, I got a factory refurbed Aquatinics MH/T5 fixture for only $360 from Scotslight.com.

Greg, your equipment looks nice, the skimmer will work, the light will work, but like said earlier, you may have to keep your sps in the center of the tank since that light won't be reaching some of the tank as well. If you need any sump building advice or help let me know, i'm local to you.
