Bought new led light fixture from China.

Gillguy. I noticed above you recommended 120 optics for those using the s150 on a 3ft tank. My tank is just shy of 3ft but 19" wide and high and you recommended 90 optics for me and 120 on any red and green? As I'll be using leg mounts.

When getting optics you have take into consideration not only the width. You have to also consider the length. Your tank is 36x19x19. The unit is 8 inches wide so 60 or 90 optics can be used for full coverage (front to back) depending on the height. For tanks that are 24 inches in length you need a wider spread so 90 optics is a minimum and usually 120 unless you get two units and run then side by side.

Was looking at the s300 and am going to hang fixture 6 to 10 inches from water surface.my ? Is wat optics would work best considering the tank is not square. Don't want to much light spill over.
Thanx

Does the light arrive as 2 separate packages? Only ask because my tracking shows 1 part in Denmark and another in Dubai.

how big is the room inside your cabinets where you have the main unit? I am fearing that I have a too small space in there since the fan on the main unit continues to sound for 10 hours even when the lights have gone out.

Thompa, are you talking about the light unit itself? And have you mounted in a canopy? If you have then it sounds like the light heat sensor maybe picking up on the heat within the enclosed space which is causing the fans to spin. Already mentioned on here that it would be best to have vents in the hood for exhaust fans I.e cut outs at the side

No, I do not mean the light unit itself. I mean the unit connected to the power supply. I have it in the cabinet underneath the aquarium. And in this cabinet I have small "rooms" one for the RO and one for the sump for example and On a shelf I have the unit connected to the electricity.

Ah, the power supply unit. I would not have expected the fan to continue spinning for that amount of time.
Does it make any difference if you have the unit outside of the cabinet? And is it particularly warm in the cabinet?

I tried this and the fan stopped within one hour, so I moved the power supply unit onto another shelf and now it works fine.
Thanks for the help from a sunny Sweden!
