Bought new led light fixture from China.

Thank you for all you have shown. I'm still so hesitant as there is still so little information on this company/product online.

I have just ordered one from them Malibu S400 with custom layout, wrote to Kevin on Monday last week , he informed me on Friday light was already shipped. Great communication. Will see how the light turns out and will report further but so far pleasant experience.

For those that are at their max light % they are using for each channel, what schedule are you using for each channel through the app? My Zeus 70 is coming Monday, will play around with it but just curious.

I do prefer a more 20k look :D

I think one of the reasons I am still hesitant to purchase this item is that there aren't many users out there saying what their lighting schedule is. I'm so afraid I am going to kill all more corals. Does LEDZeal provide any guides?

The lighting schedule that was preprogrammed in the zeus system I received had a 24 hour schedule. Like 24 hours of light. Ramped up starting at 1 am, and dimming at 11pm. So I set my own program. Took maybe 15 minutes or so. Very simple. Also, my schedule is a little funny, and I have my lights on when I am there, so I would imagine I would have to tweak any schedule.

I have mine maxing at about 40% for my all LPS/ softie system.

I ended up taking the plunge tonight and buying it. I wanted a bluer look and Kevin suggested replacing a R with a RB.

How do u know what % to max at? Do you just watch the corals for a few days then move it up?

You won't regret it, great lights.

CwStrife,
With the new setup; what is the percentage that you have for each channel, per the picture provided? Do you feel that the whites can overpower the other channels? The reason I ask is because, in the layout I chose several years ago, my whites are at a lower percentage than the rest of the channels and gives me a not too blue visual, but if I set them at the same as other channels, the tank is mostly white (this is with 4 whites/2UV in the channel).

I just received my fixture with CwStrife LED layout and I'm extremely impressed. When all channels are 100% light reminds me of Ushio 14k SE metal-halides. Use to run Razor R420R 16k before 8" above water

Set 100% blue and 65% white couldn't get enough par at bottom of my tank. After reading true this tread decided to go for LedZeal fixture and I'm not disappointed. It was build in less then 3 days and shipped right the way, if Fedex wouldn't screw up I would have received it in 3 days as well. It came extremely well packed in 2 boxes, one with light fixture and one with power supply and WiFi controller

Currently running this schedule (acclimatizing) , will be changing by 5% every other week until I reach 380par on top of my rock work.

And this is how tank looks like right now

I ordered them with 90 degree lenses because I had them hanged 18" above water level and thought they'll mix better but they didn't so I'll be ordering 120 degree lenses for which Kevin quoted me 33$ so not bad at all.

Anyone have advice on a lighting schedule for the Zeus? I am coming from T5's so I don't know much about setting a ramp up and down. Could I use similar schedules to what I see in this forum for the Malibu units?

It shouldn't be a problem to figure out schedule for your Zeus, you know how long you run your T5s. It will help you if you draw a graph. I use to run my MH from 10am till 10pm no dimming and was getting 45o par on top of my rock work. So when started with LEDs I set my start point at 6am with o% next set point 10am with 40% what ever gives you desired par and same with sunset settings. That's will give your rump up and down settings with it you don't have to run you light period that long or don't need that much intensity. But that's on you you need to figured out what your corals need/like. Expecting someone giving you their schedule and settings is not gonna help you, everyone tank is different even if you use exactly same equipment and have everything else same each tank creates their own environment and that's why you need to find out what's working for you.
Good luck [emoji106]

My light is coming tomorrow so I am sitting here tapping my foot in anticipation. I know there is a "manual", but does it give any suggestions on where to start with acclimation. I've been trying to learn as much as I can but I am really confused with the 4 channels and how they each should have a diff schedule and %'s.

If I start at extremely low %'s like 10% aren't my corals going to be suffering and increase my chances of algae growth?

When I got mine, I adjusted each channel until I liked how it looked. 1 was royal blue, 2 was white 3 and 4 are different blue, red, green combos. After I saw each percentage based on how bright I though it should be, I set the lights at about half that for 2 weeks, then ramped up from there. For dawn and dusk, I have channel 1 at like 4 percent

Love this Zeus light. So slim that I can leave it on when doing tank maintenance (I have it resting on top of the tank). Only thing I wish I did different was switch the green LED's to the RB like I did with the red one. Because of the close distance to the top of my water I can definitely see the green show up on my rock in a 2" radius which isn't ideal. At first I hated the overall shimmer effect (came from T5's) but after a day of getting used to it I really like it.

Thread dead? I check every couple of days because I figure so many people like this light as much as I do and would want to share lighting schedules that work for them.

Well this is my schedule at the moment ,you can find my led layout in my previous post. I'm getting 480PAR on top of my rock work and 280on sand.

How deep is your tank and how high off of the top of the tank is the unit.

I have only had my lights a little over a month and had gradually dialed it up, but since I have mine on top of the tank using the acrylic mounts I got nervous at about 65 because I had one coral bleach a bit.

My tank is 24" deep and light is installed at recommended 18" above the water with 120* lenses

Good day to all reefers,

After procrastinating for 1 year of reading this thread and changing my mind, I have finally made the plunge and ordered a Ledzeal Malibu S440 for my Reef tank.

I have used CwStrife's LED settings on Page 63 of this Thread.

I received the light 2 days ago and I have to admit that I love the color and spread of colors in the tank.... Much better than my 'Current USA T5HO 8 X 54W' light canopy.

I cannot wait to see how corals and SPS performs under this new hood.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and comments.... It has been very useful for me to jump onboard with this light.

Have a great day and happy reefing!
