Bought new led light fixture from China.

2 - S200 Install Pics

2 - S200 Install Pics

Finally got them installed!
72" x 24" x 18" 150 gal with center brace
2 - S200's suspended with T Track and stainless steel hardware.
This isn't the final install, but it will do for now. The lower fixture is 7" above the water, the other about 9". Eventually I'm going to remove the lid of the canopy and install some braces so I can get the fixtures higher and lined up.
We added 40 pounds of sand while the canopy was off. Once the sand storm settles, I'll post before and after pics of the tank.
So far I'm very happy with the coverage and glad I didn't go with a single S400.

I ordered my second S400 today. I also run a quick test with the canopy I'm building for my tank. The fixture lights up WAY better and almost covers the whole tank (front to back).

Got my light yesterday and very impressed i really like the coloration im getting with my layout . I went with the wireless controller which after receiving it think i shoulda saved some money and just went wired cause if the controllers not pluged in a wall it dont work which dont seem wirelesss to me lol anyways does anyone elses power supply fan run the whole time non stop even when the light dims down to zero my supplys fan dont stop unless you power it off flipping the switch

I thought the same thing about the wireless . I kept looking for a place to put the batteries. I do like to be able to sit on the couch and get a braod view while adjusting the lights though.

Lol i did the same thing even unscrewed the sides of the controller to see where to put the batteries ....dooh:D

Check out post 622 and then read on from there!

Have read the whole thread a couple times reasearching before i placed the order and saw that problem was just checking if others who have purchased these recently were having the same problem even with the light off !
Seems weird to me that when the lights off at 0% all channels the fan still was running till this morning when i flipped the switch and shut the supply off if the lights pulling no juice i would think the supply would stop after it cooled down a little which is not the case.
Thnks for the info though got to think what im going to do cause it dont make sense running a fan over a unit thats off to keep the supply fan from coming on to cool what off if its not even been on for hours...
hmmmmm waiting for a email from kevin to see what his thoughts are.

What happens if the lights are not connected to the psu?

Just unhooked the wire from the pcu to the fixture and kicked the pcu on which has been off for about 3 hrs " lights off since 12am" and the fan fires right on im gonna leave it unconnected and check on it when i get home from work to see if its still on . Thnks for the help

Just plugged my psu on without connecting the lights and my fan does not start up. Exactly what I would expect or at least until it hits a certain temperature at which point I would expect the fan to kick in. Sounds like a potential heat sensor fault

One thing I can assure you of. If there is a problem then Kevin resolves it very quickly. I have an issue with some of my LEDs not lighting on a single panel. Mailed him, got a response straight away even though it was 10pm HK time. Next day another response saying a new panel would be made and a couple of days later to say it had been dispatched. It's currently on route from HK

I had been really impressed with their pre sales service and now their after sales is proving to be just as good

10/4 good looking out it looks like my power supply was opened at sometime cause on the sides were theres screws theres a bunch of scratches that looks like it was colored in with a marker not small ones either its almost like someone with a power drill couldnt find the hole about 12 times ea screw on one side then broke out a sharpie and touched it up "my units black" i still like the unit no doubt im running a photon48 on a 90gal and i really like the coloration ,controllability, and sleek look of the malibu s400 over my photon.

Take pictures and email Kevin.

Heard back from kevin and he said the power supply is built by meanwell and supposed to be on, on the s400 once its pluged in because of how many watts it is . Man i really like this fixture thanks for starting this thread gillguy im very happy so far with the purchase

I have a 4 foot fixture right now. Will It work on 60x36 foot print? If it won't what would you recommend for full coverage.

Do you think 2 t5s on either side would cover the remaining width?

Really depends on your rock scape and if you mind shadows or not. The T5's would eliminate some of the shadows and you could possibly make some of the LEDs on the outermost row 120° or 90° depending on how high off the water the fixture will be. See what Gill guy says. He's better acquainted with the product.

36 inches is pretty wide. You will definitely will need two S300 (4Ft) units side by side for full coverage. If you don't have a canopy you can buy two S400 (5Ft) units with 60 optics for deeper penetration. If you are thinking of using only one unit with T-5's then use a minimum of 90 degree optics. One T-5 on each side might still not be enough, you might need two on each side. Or you could get three S200 (3Ft) units and place them front to back with 90 or 120 optics. My choice would be two of the 4 Ft or 5 Ft units.
