Bought new led light fixture from China.

The schedule was set per post #893....
The lights went OFF at mid night and didnt come back on till 6AM, I even adjusted the time of 1% to 1AM and then a repeat at 5 AM????
Reaslitically there is no need for them on in the middle of the night but doesnt make sense why the controller isnt runnig the set-up, the rest of the day works fine.

Never started one. Never had the confidence that my tank was worthy of one. Might well start one to track the progress under these. Having just upgraded it maybe a good time

How have you mounted yours? Would love to see a couple of piccies. Are you happy with the light?

Seeing as Sharkman requested and I can see he is going to talk me into a tank thread at some point soon :)

Mounted mine using the bracket. I bought the tank with a hood but having found these lights I decided that I would remove that and go topless instead. The light itself would fit into the hood although it would have been very low down near the water line and also would have required some cutting out of the side to vent the exhaust, run cable etc

So far I have been very pleased with both the service from the company and the light. Every message sent to Kevin was responded to very quickly and I then found that I had a problem with one of my panels. There were a number of LEDs that were not functioning correctly and were very dim. Quick mail to Kevin and a new panel was made and sent and installed in just over a week. All free of charge and no hassle at all. This means that I have spare LEDs (those that work) and spare 120 lenses

The LEDs can be replaced although by all accounts not the same as DIY and they have 2 legs which need to be soldered along with thermal paste to attach them

The light itself is well made and the panels are easy enough to replace if needed. The fans on the actual light only spin up when the higher intensity levels are hit. They quickly cool the unit and spin down. Same said for the power supply on the smaller units. I believe that the larger units may run their fan constantly. Not an issue if you home the psu in a cabinet

controller is very easy to setup as well and once you get the right config then the ramp up and down is very subtle

So on with the pics

6 Royal, 4 Blue and 2 UV running at 18% - Good morning fish :)

Tank shot 1.jpg

Pics taken with iphone so the white balance is way, way off and the tank is showing the sun from the left hand side. Need to get some red filters for the iphone

Would I recommend these? Hell yes
Do they make my tank look good? I think so and having used the light schedule from Fuzzy I sat there last night with a big grin as the tank glowed later on in the evening

Running them with 120 lenses and trying to decide if 90's would be a better choice. I have a set of 90's that I can use

Nice aquascape! Simple but with lots of spots for placing new corals and allowing them to grow out.

As far as customer service, like Stej mentioned and I mentioned in my first post when I started this thread, I liked what I saw in the product but was hesitant to order from china. Kevin from Ledzeal convinced me that as far as service there would be no problem. All emails were responded quickly and with the answers needed. Glad to see many people have benefited from the light.

Sharkman, no need to wait. You will be very satisfied with the light. This thread has been now open for about 9 months and many people are glad of their purchase.

I tried to mount the light with the supplied bracket but no luck!! my tank is exactly 36W and
the lamp with the bracket extends exactly to 37 inches. I have high ceiling so that also is
adding to my frustration. So.. I have a Rimless reef Savvy rimless tank waiting to lamp to be mounted LOL.

Still have long way to go. SUCKS.

Thanks for that looks fab!. Can I ask a favour, with the light sitting in the brackets, what is the distance from the tank edge support to the top of the light, just need to check it will fit in my hood,
Thanks
Simon

You will need 7" of room using the SS Brackets.
The SS brackets are 4" and then 3" for the light and incoming power line.
I only had 5" with my canopy so I cut PVC pipe and made 1" stands for them and the lights sit 2" above the water line. They produce very little heat and havent seen my water temp go up.

Two inches, wow that's close, don't you get any splash on them or are do you have a glass cover.
Yep I really want one but don't want to get one and then find I can't mount it, as my new tank isn't here yet I'm trying to make sure it will go in, but at two inches I'm sure there won't be a problem as I think I have about 6/7 inches......no point buying the legs extra then as I could probs make a stand for them to sit on.

Is a hood an essential part of your plan? I was dead set on a hood. Previous tank had one for 3 yrs and I really didn't want an open top
Now I have an open top and a brand new piece of board that was meant to be a hood sitting in the kitchen
Glass cover but plan on doing a DIY mesh in the very near future

No has to have a cover, it's the solid oak one from a very well known uk chain of fishy shops, and the mrs will only have solid wood and must be like a contained piece of furniture!

Ah, I see

I actually don't know what happened with my mrs. I went out for a 2ft cube and she insisted on the 3ft
Then I said will have to cut hood and she said don't bother and remove the cover.... I keep waiting to be hit with a massive request for something!
