Boxfish

I have just set up a 120 gallon tank to house a boxfish and a few other fish, it won't be ready for fish for 4-6 weeks but I have a 20 Long QT set up. Do you think this would be big enough to house the blue spotted boxfish that you have on divers den for that long? What size tanks do you keep them in at your facility? Thanks for the help.

jrobison,

Thank you for your post. The Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility has individual fish boxes, divided cubicle sections in 24" and 48" acrylic aquariums, and 48" x 48" holding vats for our main fish system. Many questions on the quarantine procedures at our facility in Rhinelander can be found in the articles Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility and LiveAquaria.com Diver's Den® Quarantine Procedure for Fish. You will be able to see pictures of the extensive filtration system along with the holding tanks for both corals and fish.

Regarding your question on the appropriate size of a quarantine tank, the Hawaiian male blue boxfish offered through our Diver’s Den selection should be fine for the 4 to 6 weeks in your 20 long. If we can be of additional assistance, please contact our LiveAquaria Department at 1-800-334-3699, via email at CustomerService@LiveAquaria.com, or PM us.
