brain coral disease maybe?

My brain coral seems to be slowly shrinking. I got it from ly lfs where it had been stung by abother coral so I got it cheap. Has been flourishing but lately I've noticed white filaments streaming off of it and and now tonight I notice this dense white filament on one end. Is this a disease or the coral growing a skeleton?

it looks like necrosis or tissue recession. It's certainly not new growth. I would dip it in a coral dip to kill any germs and feed the heck out of it to promote growth.

Those white things your seeing are most likely Mesenterial filaments. These are usually used a defence mechanism, but sometimes they can just be an indication that the coral is indeed stressed out. What are your parameters? Has the coral always been in that same location? It almost looks as if something is stinging it on the bottom there. A dip in some revive or something similar might be a good idea. GL.

What and how do i feed this coral? I've never fed it anything and I just transfered my tank about two weeks ago. So it's a brand new spot for it. I can't think of anything bc my hammer coral and my gsp and my montipora are doing fantastic. Any advice would be appreciated

I target feed my brain with tiny bits of frozen squid (1-2 mm in size) or shrimp using a syringe with a rigid air-tube and since I started doing this it has been growing rapidly for me. I've had mine for 6 months and I swear it's tripled in size in that time. If the food quantity is large and it's really hungry it can take up to 8 hours to eat it all but this is not a problem. But now I feed it so it finishes the food in a couple of hours.
I have tried coral frenzy, hykari, formula 1 pellets and zooplankton but it doesn't like those as much.
