Hi there,
I bought a brain coral today. It was quite puffed up so I couldnt see his skeleton well in the store but I cant say that I really checked it. Anyways, when I brought it home, it was deflated ofcourse and I saw that there is some algae growth on his skeleton.
Here is the photo;

Can it survive if the tank conditions are good or should I worry?

I've been able to bring back a couple that actually looked worse. Medium flow and try to feed it every few days.

If it will eat, chances are you can bring it back.

I have a pair of clowns that use my brain as their host. So what I do to feed the brain is I took an empty 2 liter bottle and cut the bottom off it. Turn off the powerheads and place the bottle over the brain. I then take a turkey baster and squirt some brine shrimp or mysis on it. Leave it there for about 30 minutes or so. This keeps all the fish and inverts away from it and seems to work well. Good Luck!

Take a look a couple hours after lights out. Only having the coral for 2 days, you might have to wait a bit for him to be comfortable enough to start to feed.
