Sad to report that I lost my hippo tang, found him stuck between rocks. Also lost 2 of my anthias :/.

I've ordered a nextreef monster dual reactor to place in sump. Also giving the skimmer a nice vinegar bath.

Monday I plan on painting my QT's 3 sides black since I wanted to do that before, but completely forgot when I Qt'd my last fish.

Once the QT is up and running I plan on ordering a new hippo and maybe a PBT.

Noooo!! no more powder blue tangs! They are one of the most difficult fish to keep along with the Moorish idol and also wrasses aren't the easiest either. Maybe stick with more common fish like clowns, chromis, royal grammas, etc... Its really not normal for so many fish to die under ones care like this. Work out the bugs with hardy fish for a while, then if you don't have any deaths for a long time, move on to something maybe a little more difficult.
You also need to get on a better water change schedule. Say every 10 days or so. And stick with that schedule without fail. And if you do a big one each month...stick with that without fail. You'll be amazed at what a schedule water change plan will do. Reef tanks adjust to schedule. It knows when you miss one here and there and it doesn't like it.
Also, a 30 day quarantine should be minimum every time.

Umm yeah...

So Thursday 11/19 I purchased a few fish from DD. I got them on 11/22 and they've all been in my QT since. Everyone is eating like pigs and getting along well. After 4-6 weeks I'll move them over to the display. I just did a 25g water change on the QT.

The fish are:
.PBT
.EMPEROR ANGEL
.Trio Female Lyretail Anithas

I LOVE the PBT and Emperor theyre great looking fish. I hope my Purple Tang doesnt give them any issues.

The blue is for growing corals. The fish could care less. If you're dedicating the tank to viewing the fish you'll want to increase the yellow/green portion of the light spectrum. These lamps are geared towards corals so they don't give you a wide range of options. I'd leave the blue and royal blue as they are and just start GRADUALLY increasing the white until you get a nice view of the fish's colour.

I'll mess with it tomorrow to get a nice viewing pleasure.

No coral in this tank FOWLR babiiii

I'm thinking end of January I'll look for a hippo tang and flame angel then call it a day. I want to give the tank time to catch up since I just added 5 fish and don't want to mess with fish in qt for the holidays.

Here's mine. Tiny.

So far all seems well, some aggression between the PBT and Purple Tang. Mainly from the PBT, but I'm hoping it settles down.

I want to pick up a flame angel + hippo tang towards end of January, then maybe a few SMALL fish and I'm done.

Probably this time next year I'll be getting a place with my girlfriend and will have to figure out logistics of moving things. Might look to buy a 300g tank, set it all up there, then move the livestock over slowly then sell this tank. Have to see what she'll allow :).
