Brando's 180 Gallon in Wall!!!

Thanks everyone!

Originslly my sump was going to go under the stand but the height would have made it impossible to work

My stand is 39.5" tall which isn't to bad but when you're using a 75G as the sump that takes up quite a bit of the space under it.

Ill be following this build.

Thanks ill update as much as possible. Ordered my cuc from reef cleaners so hopefully that'll be here soon.

Im toying with the idea of hanging an ati 48" 6 x 54 watt fixture centered and an ai on each side l

I stopped by Diamonds of the Reef today a nice fish store located in Brooklyn, NY. Diamonds of the Reef has multiple tanks with a wide selection of healthy fish! Brian the owner is a nice guy with an even nicer store.

I snapped a few pictures of the store to show my cousin since it was my first time there, but there will be definitely be more trips the in the future.

Coral tanks - 3 tier system mixed with zoas, chalices, sps, and more. The system is still maturing, but should be pretty sweet once it is fully stocked.

The reason for my visit was to pick up a flame angel, well Brian was kind enough to also have some anthias and a potter's angel that caught my eye. I ended up leaving with 4 Bartlett's Anthias, a flame angel, and a potter's angel.

After the hour and 15 min drive home and 30 mins of temperature acclimating them I then drip acclimated them. I am happy to announce the fish are now in my display and all seem happy.

There are some photos below of the fish that Brian had posted in his thread. These are of the fish, but I suck at taking photos and well they show the true beauty of them. I will snap a video in a few days once they are fully adjusted.

Powder Blue Tang

If I'm feeling dangerous maybe a Lineatus Fairy Wrasse and Blue Throat Triggerfish Male only or Pair as last fishes.

Brando457 - Glad you finally got around to making a build thread! I see you are making great progress. That skimmer seems to be a workhorse! How heavy do you feed / how many times a day? I can never get wet skim unless something dies or something is wrong in the tank.

Not to hijack your post, but I'm confused by the wet skim comment. I've had a few skimmers between the two systems I've had, and that's always been how my skim looks. Usually leaves behind a greenish water after the foam disappears. Is this not a good thing? I've never know anything else.

It isn't necessarily a bad thing, some people like their skimmate to be a bit watered down, others like it dry. I am in the mind state of how I have it as pictured, which is in between.

So I am looking at my tank the past few days and noticed the water is a bit cloudy. I am not really sure why that may be.

I changed the carbon on Saturday 2/23/13 and changed to a new filter sock also yesterday as well. Today I did a 15g water change and yet the tank is still cloudy.

Any ideas how I can fix it? I plan on doing another 15g water change on Wednesday to see if that helps and switching my gfo as well. But other than changing water and socks I am at a loss :(.

Thanks!

Hey Brando.....how long has the tank been up and running now? Seems like a lot of fish in a very short period of time. You might be having some kind of bacterial bloom. Are you running any kind of carbon?

Thanks, how is your tank coming along? I was following your build thread and saw some things the rock :/.

I been on bed rest for past 72 hours, have a viral infection reeking havoc on my body. Lost about 10 -15 lbs in the past 72 hrs. Can't keep anything in at all and rough to lift my head. ugh. Feeling better today thankfully
