I was just thinking we should pick a sunday or something and just get together and talk fish over breakfast or something. Whats everyone think stupid idea?

hehe I was wondering who would say that. I was kind of thinking it would be nice to get together and "talk" rather than sell lol

I think we'll need a few of these events regionally. I've been meaning to have an "open house" now that my system is up and running so I'll volunteer to host the Syracuse crew, if they don't mind coming out to the boonies.

Yeah rochester has a problem with frag swaps meetings etc as we dont really have any lfs support like arc or abc in syracuse and fairport

I've often thought we should do some social events, just to share hobby experiences. Other clubs have pizza nights, etc. and I think that would be fun here too. A Rochester location might be a half way point for Buffalo and Syracuse members. In any event, I'm in.

Even though I'm still a newbie around here, I'd definitely be up for it. My kids wake me up early on the weekends anyway lol.

I think the problem has been (for a while now) that there are a TON of members. How do we handle the logistics of the size of the group? I think it's a cool idea - I'm up for a Rochester swap or even just a social get-together.

i think that would be neat, do it a month or so out then it could be planned, and a deposit of $10 a head or something, somewhere that way you would know for sure whos coming. And the deposit goes towards your meal...or beer...or both..or a stripper..wait did i say that out loud :-)
And not a swap but a get together. It seems at swaps most people are too busy and you feel like your in the way sitting their talking while everyone trys to walk by to buy from tanks.

Why not just fid a place that has like a brunch or buffet that kind of thing call ahead say we need a table for 30 or whatever people then everyone just pays for their plate at the door nice and easy shoot we could do that tomorrow its so easy lol

I'd be down for breakfast or something to talk aquariums.

In the summer time, a bring a dish to pass dinner could be arranged I'm sure. It all depends on the amount of people that are interested though.
