My 12 year old Trachyphyllia geoffroyi is now dead. It was being stung by a hammer coral and brown jelly set in. I dipped several times with Reef Dip/Lugols but it just kept getting worse. Memorial services were held this morning with just a few close family members. He will be remembered!

Sorry for your loss. Maybe you could crush up his skeleton and put it in your calcium reactor. That way, he will still be contributing to your reef and still be living there as new growth of other corals shells. :)

Richard, I am really sorry to hear this. I remember this coral when you were still living in Jackson and just forming the club. It was quite the specimen for a long time.

Thank you all for the kind words. It has been a tough day, but I think I will make it through.

Circle of life and all that jazz!
