Breeders Coalition

Hi Guys!,

This idea was pretty popular at mofib and the rareclownfish forum
so i am trying it at all the fish breeding forums I can,
what do you guys think of a coalition of breeders that sell nothing but captive bred fish corals and inverts, I have a person who is offering distributorship(Matt C at SA), and another offering webspace for a store, so I am trying to find breeders that are interested.
what do you guys think?

Sounds interesting. I'd be interested to see how it works out for you guys. I am up in Canada and it's probably not worth the trouble to worry about international shipments.

i am going to start breeding in the next year so i would be interested.

I'm not sure it would benefit the breeder. Someone has to pay for the web store / distributor / maintenance etc.

I am planning to import from australia so adding canada to that list should be no problem, also I have had web space offered to me and the 2 distributors already have established buisnesses so overhead would be practically a non issue, I estimate first shipments going out by march or april of next year,

my first distributor, sustainable aquatics, was already planning an expansion, and has space planned aside for a project such as this, my other distributor is smaller, he tells me he can store a few thousand fish with his current setup.

the only other thing I am waiting on is my imprt and buisness licences, so it may be sooner than that.

my original pay idea was if you provide a certain percent of the livestock, you get that percent of the final sale, but if anyone has a better idea i am willing to listen.

I also need a name, so any suggestions of any kind are good, even critisizm is a good thing, so feel free to post or ask questions

UPDATE: my buddy down under, mrbailey got the bare bones of the website up and running, its at fishcoalition.com, he is working on getting the forum up and running right now, so as soon as he gets it going all furthur discussions about the coalition will head there.
on the site all things will be decided, and all policy will be posted for all to see.
also as soon as we get going it will have an online store( theres a tab for it but nothing there yet.
