first i just want to say hi cause im new to this site. I have a 12g nano and an empty 55g tank that I would like to try to breed some faulse percula clowns. what is needed for this?? I have a 260 watt coral life florecent light. will this be enough for an anemone as a host for my fish, do breeding clowns need an anemone in the tank, the 55 will be the display tank what should i do as far as tank mates that wont mess with the clowns or the eggs??

First of all...Welcome. Just take some time and read through the threads here and they will answer many of your questions. There is a weath of information here on breeding clowns. Have fun!

you dont need an anemone to breed clownfish, anemones are also extremly hard to keep, you may have succes for a few months but after that the anmeone starts to rapidly decline especialy if you were thinking of puting a magnifica anemone in the breeding tank, if u realy want an anemone, try using a bubble tip anemone they are relitizely easy to keep compared to other anemones but are still not hardy in the long run, ur lighting will be enough to keep the bubble tip alive, dont get a magnifica they are just way too hard to keep, i have kept my magnifica alive for about 7 years and it has grown huge but i used an outdoor system getting direct Australian sun.
I would suggest u to get a seperate breeding tank it only needs to be about 40Liters. I say this because most tankmates that u will be putting in the 55g will stress the clown fish and this will discurage the clownfish to breed, im talking from experiance dood

Get the book "Clownfish" by Joyce Wilkerson. This is where most reefers who are looking to raise them will find a wealth of information.
