So I posted on here a few weeks ago asking what a basic setup would be...I have since changed my mind and cuz I'm not breeding for profit but because i love clownish. That being said I want to Make a 20g long AIO DT instead of breeding tank. Now from what I read stability and comfort are key... Everyone suggests no tank mates. But would this include CUC like hermits and snails? Also what recommended corals would be good? I'm definitely getting zoas cuz I love them... And i won't have a nem cuz I don't want one... Any other suggestion for the tank would be much appreciated.

For breeding set ups, it makes sense to not have any tankmates and to have a bare bottom tank for ease of cleaning. For a DT tank featuring clowns, it's a bit different. As long as you don't have fish or inverts that will stress out the clowns, they should be fine. I think more people have pairs of clowns breeding than people think. The challenge is not getting them to breed, it's hatching the eggs and raising the babies.
My clowns breed like clockwork (new clutches every 18 days) in my 120 gallon DT that they share with about a dozen other fish, one being a tang that's constantly swimming around them.
HOWEVER, they do live in a carpet anemone, which I think helps them stay calm since they can dart into it when scared. I highly recommend considering getting an anemone or coral to serve as a host.
Finally, environmental conditions also play a key role. Don't have your tank in the garage if you're moving a car in and out. If you have kids, don't let them bang on the tank. Don't keep them close to a TV if it's on a lot and makes a lot of noise (though I do hear that clowns like watching "Deadliest Catch" and "Fishtank Kings" but not "Tanked").
