I am considering constructing a breeding setup for clownfish. I will start wtih ocellaris and clarkii.
The clarkii will have a 40 gallon breeder tanks. The Ocellaris will have 20g tanks(possibly even 10 g)
I was thinking of using a linked setup. I wanted to drill all the tanks (except maybe fry tanks as I would think they may get sucked into the bulkhead.) I thought I would save a lot of cash on heaters filters etc. I'd be able to have one large skimmer for the whole setup. I could use a few large heaters supplementing up to 20 seperate tanks as opposed to having 1-2 heaters per tank. Hang on overflows do not sound like a good idea as they are pricey and I would need a lot of them. Does anyone have any pictures of a breeding setup using a large sump?I understand that I would need to have qaurantine tanks for any new pairs that I add as they may infect the entire system. Are there any other draw backs?
I was also wondering. Would 1 1" bulkhead be sufficient for a 20g tank? Is that sufficient flow, or is it going to be too much.
