Breeding setup

Looking into a 500gal breeding setup. Not sure if its good to go with a plumbing setup similiar to the likes of dare I say the LFS or is there a better way. Seems alot of breeders use the long pipe tubes to drain water into the filtration.

Looking to breed clowns, gobies, inverts, and probably toss in a frag grow-out in there as well. Would like to only have 1 mech, chem, heaters , and UV setup to filter/sterilize everything too.

Would it be good to use larger tanks and divide them in 2s and 3s like dividing a 125 into 4 30gal sections? Or is flow compromised there?

Also what kinda pump am I looking at the power all the piping and multiple tanks?

Thanks for the suggestions

It's the easiest and least expensive way

Build in redundancy, run each endeavour on it's own system. I can assure you a frag setup would never fly in the pollution of a clown system. I shouldn't say never but the water changes would be near retarded

Flow is almost always compromised in a divided tank, smaller tanks allow plug and play; you only use the tanks you need and cleaning them is alot easier and safer if you can remove a 10 or 15 gallon to a sink to be sterilized

big, you know the kind that turns hydro bills into mortgage payments

Thanks for the suggestions

There are dozens of threads here on broodstock/ larval/ growout systems. Look around :)

My default reply: Filling in your location & occupation goes a long way in getting some attention around here :D It's important to know if you are in Miami or North Dakota as they are very different situations. Also it's good to know if you are 16 or 60

Excellent point David,

I tend to ignore posts in which the profile isnt filled in,
