It looks great Brian. The stand and canopy look awesome
+1 now just missing the thingy in the middle.

Looks real nice Brian, wasn't all that routering worth it in the end!

The flameback should be ready to go in 4-5 days. Really a nice little fish just decided to go with some higher end fish for the last additions.

Thanks Mark, so far I'm pretty happy with it. Beside the fact that every figure print show up and with two young girls its something I'll have to live with. :)

That's a pretty short tank... just room for a sand bed...

I know you're anxiously awaiting the next stage - (just been there, done that) ;)

Good luck. We'll be tagging along.

LL

Thanks LL, I do wish I went taller  . As for being anxiously, I have been to busy to think about.

Scott, I furgure I have 14 hrs + on just routering the doors, but it was worth it.

I'm sure he'll look good in my tank :D.

Great Job Brian! I bet you felt great when you finished! :D

Ian, I did, but I still need to build a matching bow for my RO/DI. I'm getting closer though.

The glass hole for all our money?

Fantastic job BTW!

Thanks Tony, money pit for sure! I've been hearing from the wife every day. I better make it up with the b-day present.

Now that the canopy is finished, I need to decide how to mount and where to mount my 5 computer fans? The two options I have thought of so far is mounting them in the corners of the center brace of the canopy blowing down. Here a pic of the center brace

Or just put another brace across the back and mount them there. One thing is that inorder to have them below the reflector it puts the brace pretty low and I was hope to have some access to the back of the tank for cleaning.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Is there any venting or openings besides the back? What happens to heat once it is in living space?

Are you talking about having fans blowing up and out top?

The top and back are open. The heat will just enter into the basement. Our house has a dehumidifier built in, if that doesn't hold I will add an exhaust fan down the road. Currently my 90 gal hold at ~81 on the hottest day with two 400w on it, so I don't think heat will be an issue.

I was thinking of having them blow down, but I could have a few blo up and out too.

Good modification!

On top of getting the sump I picked up all the materials for the canopy and face of the stand. The laminate that will be used to face the canopy and face of the stand will be picked up tomorrow. I need to get moving as Miracles think the tank will be done in less than two weeks. :eek1:

Here is the "light rail" that I will be using to hang my lights. I seen the idea in Lightsluvr build. It's pocket door hanger from McMaster-Carr. It rated for 150 lb doors and comes with the wheels.

There are two 6' rails. I will be only using one and will be cutting it to 5' so I can drop the reflector and remove it out the side to the canopy.

The wheels come with a door hanger bolt, which I replace with a normal bolt. There is a washer on each side of the reflector and a nut on the top side of the reflector. The nut allows space so that the reflector doesn't rub on the rail.

Clever modification of the light rail system (one that I borrowed from edandsandy).

It's looking good, Brian.

How about a 3/2 combination to create circulation?

This has acrossed my mine but I'm still looking for a way to mount them.

I also need to look into a way to mount my vho's, any ideas?

Sump looks good Brian. What size of tank are you using for the sump?

It is 48*24*16, it is about 80 gals. It's basically a 120 wide cut down.
