Brick-colored Montipora

Now that I've managed to stop my SPS from losing colour by:
a) slightly raising my ATI 8 bulb T5 fixture and shortening 8 bulb photo period from 6 to 4.5 hours (2 bulbs are still on for 12 hours + a strip of reefbrites)
b) dosing potassium nitrate and keeping my nitrates at 2-3 ppm
c) getting rid of red bugs

I've waited about a month and things are definitely much better.

Now I want to focus on my red colour: my red montipora is vivid red under blue plus lighting, but when I turn on my 8 bulbs and get more of a 12k look I can see that its actual colour is red-brown brick colour. I even took it outside and examined it under sunlight - still the same.

Is that to be expected or is there a way to turn this bad boy into a bright red? Currently the coral is all the way at the top of my tank.
