Brightwell's Amino Acids - how do you dose it?

I recently picked this product up. It basically says you can just dump in x amount or use a turkey baster to spot feed by spraying it 4-5" upstream.

How do you dose this product. I am kind of curious why it matters if you just dump it in compared to spot feeding.

Turn off your skimmer, phosban, carbon, etc and pour the solution into the tank. Wait two hours and then turn your skimmer on.

I like to pour it in before I go to bed when the lights are off and then turn the skimmer back on in the AM.

I just dump it in front of my sure flow maxijet broadcast style and let it hit what it hits. I never turn anything off to dose/feed ANY product but the instructions recommend turning the skimmer off. I also dose reef plus which has amino's twice a week so I'm not really concerned if some of the amino's are skimmed out. I dose mine about 30 minutes before the lights go out because I read somewhere amino uptake is a daytime activity

I think you'll like brightwell aminos. I was using them for about 6 months and had amazing color. I stopped to see how much of a difference they made....colors are still good, but not as good. And yes, I did the same thing as Sonny.

I dosed according to the directions exactly. Every day around lunch(would cut the skimmer for at least 30 minutes). Only negative to Brightwell's aminos is you'll eat up bottles like hotcakes....

I just started this stuff last night. I added one drop in front of my main powerhead about 30min before lights went out. I'm startin slow with this stuff. So probably one drop every two weeks.

I use a different type of amino (Warner Marine) and I never turn off my skimmer before dosing. I am wondering whether I should or should not turn it off now

Is it correct that you dose 5ml into the tank? The bottle is only 30ml so does it last only 6 days. Or are you only meant to dose once a week or something?

I'd rather have my skimmer off during the day then during the night. The oxygen level will drop during the night, and also the pH with the skimmer on that will be less.

Anyhow, imho just drop it near the return line and you'll be fine.
