Brine Shrimp Setup

This is what my brine shrimp setup for my dwarf seahorses looks like:

I can have up to 4 two Liter bottles going at the same time at the top (I have two for now and I think that will be plenty). I alternate days when I clean it and hatch new eggs.
Then the new baby brine shrimp will go into the blue container to grow out for 12 hours.
After that, they are moved to the orange container for enrich with Dan's Feed. I haven't gotten the feed yet, so I'm not sure how long they need to eat it, but after that amount of time I will feed them to the sea horses.

looks good!

looks good!

one thing I have done is cut the base off a second pop bottle of the same type and use it as a base/ drip catcher by sliding it over the bottom of the funnel. The other thing I just learned from the zebra fish facility downstairs at work (they have about 1000 tanks) is that you can store baby brine in the fridge for 3-4 days after harvesting, and in your case after feeding the brine before they start to die. you put them back in to feed and they warm up and kick around fine

Ah that's a good idea. I use a paper towel, but it gets wet pretty quickly - so far it's been ok but I think I'll have to change it a lot.

Do you put yours in the fridge with the enrichment or enrich before you feed them?

At the moment, mine are living for 6 days in room temperature, which is amazing :D

I prefer to feed ongrown brine to the adult zosterae but feed the smaller ones to the seahorse fry.
For the adults, I grow them to about 1/8th of adult brine size before feeding them to adult dwarfs, and they will feed on them up to about 1/3 of adult brine size.
For newly hatched, when kept at room temperature of about 70°F, they stay small enough for dwarf fry for about a week. I just remove the amount I need daily for fry and for adult dwarfs and enrich for two 12 hour stages with new enrichment and water for each stage before feeding them to the dwarfs.
For enrichment I use Dans Feed with beta glucan.

How long do you think it takes before they are big enough for the adult dwarfs? My idea was to keep the newest shrimp in the blue container, and have the orange container for growing the brine out for enrichment, and enrich on a per feeding basis in the black hatchery disk (which is on the third shelf, not pictured) - what day/time are they old enough to begin enrichment?
