if i put brine shrimp eggs in my tank will they just hatch on their own??

My guess would be no, but I couldn't say that for sure. I'm guessing it wouldn't hurt anything to try as long as you didn't dump a ton of brine eggs in there.

im not positive, but i think they would, but this would result in a ammonia spike.

Try the decapsulated version so you don´t have shells all over the place/less problem with nutrients. A lot of them would probably be sucked up by the skimmer before hatching (if you use one). I would recommend that you hatch them separately and add to your tank.

hatch them outside the tank, then put them in your fuge. they grow to adulthood and reproduce from there. My chetto keeps about 50% in the fuge the rest go to the tank.

You could also make an in tank hatchery by using a clear 20oz soda bottle with a 1/8" hole in the cap filled about 1 inch from the top with tank water put your eggs in then cap it and invert it in your tank. the air in the bottle will make it float. the hatched shrimp will swim out the hole in the cap. (bottom)

Don't put the eggs in the tank. Not good. I read somewhere that the eggs have potential to hurt fish intestines. If you want to give them a snack (as thats pretty much all brine shrimp are) then decapsulate them or hatch them.

great idea, do the adults get into the main tank as well? my pipefish isnt eating and i dont want him to die

I've read a LOT of stuff in this hobby.



Dont believe everything you read. Fry maybe, adult fish? Not a chance.
