Cool! Looking forward to this getting set up.
Doesn't the Red Sea kit come with a 6 or 8 X t5 fixture?
What is Blue Treasure salt?
You won't be testing potassium?

Looking good in the plan, good luck! Only thing I would consider changing would be the Jebao dosing pumps. I have heard horror stories of them nuking tanks after a year or so...

You won't be testing potassium?

Cheap Chinese brand salt - $50 per 20kg box of salt.
Been using it for 2 years now and its fine.
I will do an update on my old post - not like theres much to see.
Testing Potassium and Strontium as well.

Been dosing the DIY trace elements as well - concocted by myself.
I will post up photos of it - It follows Balling closely. ;)

Update - I am alive and well. :jester:

Tank is going really slow - ASW is in - "People - the tank is moist"
10L Siporax is fully seeded
Protein Skimmer upsized to Coral Box C9
Return Pump upsized to Jebao DCS 7000 :lmao:
Lighting upsized to ATI Sun Power 8x80 watts non-dimable with 3 x Rapid Coronas on it as well - 1000 Watts of Kong Pow aura Lights.:blown:
Dosing - DIY Trace elements - upgraded to Pro version. :frog:

Rock scape will be done this weekend. The rocks have been soaked / rinse for 1 month now.

Picture will come after I have it all setup with the scapes.
Patience young joey - don't go hopping mad. :bounce1:

I didn't even know you had this going Kevin - i want pics now, i don't do patient. I think you have enough of the right lighting to get the job done from top to bottom and all over mate

Sorry for the lack of update.
All the equipment and tank was wet and was about to start 2 months ago.
What luck I have and disaster struck, the ground floor was flooded and now the house is under renovation mode.
Tank is now empty of water and in waiting state.
Hopefully February 2017 start.

Its been dormant for 1 year.
It's alive - Started cycling on the 09/07/2017.
I will do a quick cycle in 7 days because I can. :reading:
Stay tune it's about to get really colourful in this thread.

Broken water pipe in the house. :deadhorse: Nothing to do with the tank.

That's terrible! I've had a friend that had a house flood that way. I'm glad your getting everything back in order now! It's a long road to recover from something like that.

Quick update - 14 days cycle have finished on Sunday.
Diatoms was everywhere is how I know the cycle is done.
Found out the nutrients level is off the chart.
NO3 at 100ppm - hot pink colour on the salifert Nitrate test kit. Possible much higher reading.
PO4 at 0.68ppm - Hanna Phosphate Checker.

I took action to reduce it down.
Hooked up on dosing pump.
1) Channel 1 dosing Vitaglow - vitamins
2) Channel 2 dosing Lanthanum Chloride - into the protein skimmer chamber

Add bacteria that eats Nitrate - 20 grams.

Fast Forward - Tuesday night nutrients test.
NO3 at 0.5ppm
PO4 at 0.07ppm

The tank is ready for corals come Thursday - waiting for coral shipment.
Before I put my corals in on Thursday, I will be dosing 50ml of straight solution of trace elements to buffer the water what the cycle process took out.

Looking great Kevin, are you trying to keep everything so pastel or is it just the new system still bedding in mate. And please don't think i'm having a dig at you, it's just that you have the polar opposite in color saturation to me and i want to know the how and why :)

Thanks mate.
With 2 fish in the system right now.
The nutrients are low holding very easily.
But I am dosing coral nutrition back in to sustain the corals.
End of the day is fast growing tank and colours right?

Two fish - that'd do it lol.

At the end of the day all that matters is what gives you enjoyment from the hobby Kevin. Fast growing colorful SPS sounds pretty good to me mate

By the time I am finish with my fish list.
Once the IBC fish of 11 moved in, that will make 13 fish immediately.
Then I will QT a few more new fish say 7 to make up the remainder.
I think I will get 20 fish into the 5ft and there will be plenty of nutrients to make the coral colours saturate. :lol2::thumbsup:

The tank is 2 months old, as you can see the brown age stage starting to peel back, but I want them to stay a bit longer for the snails and pods population to gear up and breed.
