Bristle Worm Eating Macro?

Ok I hope this doesn't sound as stupid as I think it does. But I swear I have bristle worms that eat macro. Is this normal?

Tank contains:
nassarius snails, maybe 30 or so
2 bluelegged crabs
1 scooter bleany
3 H. Erectus Seahorses

Now I have quite a few different macro's in my display. But mainly prolifera, serulata, gracilaria, and botryocladia.

A few months ago I added Ulva to both the refuge and the display. Its now gone from the display, and I remember seeing bristle worms all over it in the evenings.

A few weeks ago I added gracillaria and mexicana to the display. The mexicana was new and the gracillaria from my refuge. The mexicana was maybe a 1/2 handfull grew like crazy for about 5 days is now gone. I searched the rock it was hitched to and there is nothing left of it. The gracillaria was at least 2 handfulls and is now about 2/3 the size and I find pieces of it laying around the tank. Anyway, last night I found a 6'' long bristle worm setting on top of the gracillaria. I assume he was eating it but I'm not sure. I certainly didn't think they would eat macro.

Is this normal behavior for them, am I blaming the bristle worms for someone else's eating habbits? I'm confused and a little upset I tossed all my algae eaters out a long time ago, I thought. The prolifera, serulata and a few other dark greens seem to go untouched. I do think the batryocladia has probably been eaten on from the beginning the more I think about it but seems to be doing ok.

Everyone has bristle worms and most of us have macro's and no one has noticed and/or not noticed this?

There are types of bristle worms that do eat some macro's. Though the most common ones I've seen in reef tanks only seem to eat macro's if they are already declining and starting to die off.
