Bristle worm infestation?

There are many people on here that love their bristle worms. I have a fairly new tank, about 3 months old. In my sump, a 30g sump with fuge, I would say there are 5-7 1/4 inch long bristle worms. Now I know some people will say they are fine, and that's ok. I was wondering if its a cause for alarm or if I should get some traps to thin them out a bit. Thoughts opinions? Or maybe a critter in my sump to keep them under control.

Five to seven is no big deal. When you start seeing 50-100, something is up. A population explosion like this usually indicates an abundance of food in the system, which isn't good. GL.

Bristleworm populations are regulated by the availability of food. If you are a heavy feeder you'll have a lot. Five to seven is not a lot.

from my understanding is the only threat they pose is if they get to large. they are great cleaners and love eating excess food and tend to not bother to many things. i have seen videos of large ones attacking small fish but this is rare from what i understand. the trick is getting rid of them (if youd like) and i have found several ways
1. 100% nylon sock, place the food inside and they get stuck
2. bristle worm catchers , a small tube that you place food in and they get stuck.
3. hunt them with tweasers. at night spot them with a red light and pulls them out ( they can sting you)
4. sixline wrasse. they will naturally pick them away with time and a pretty little fish. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+1926+375&pcatid=375

hope this helps.
