bristle worms with crabs

will a large bristle worm harm a molting porcelain crab?

my porcelain molted and i noticed alot of bristles around him- now hes been missing for 3 or 4 days-

any ideas?>

Not likely, but if the crab died during molt (a somewhat common occurrence) they would certainly come and clean up.

In some crabs it takes several days for the new shell to harden & they hide during this time. The bristles were probably attracted by body chemicals being released into the water during the molt.
