Bristle Worms

I have heard that bristle worms can become a pest but I have also heard they are great for detritus. Are they safe to keep in a refugium and if so what is the possibility that they may creep into the main tank?

Bristle worms = good
fireworms = bad

As for them creeping back into your main tank - they're already there.

they should not reach pest proportions, unless you feed alot. their population will only grow to what available food source allows.
depending on what livestock you have, they could also become a food source themselves.
not normally something to stress about...
