Bristle Worms

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ve been searching threads and it seems that the general consensus is bristle worms are not bad things. I got some cheato last weekend and decided to leave it in quarantine for a couple weeks before putting it in my fuge. Good decision on my part. Right now Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m treating for aiptasia with Joes Juice which seems to be a never ending process. Along with this I got a few bristle worms. My plan in a few weeks is to get a butterfly and as an added bonus, it might help with the aiptasia in the q-tank. Would it be ok to leave the bristle worms in the quarantine tank or should I move them to the main tank. My thoughts are if the fish is stressed, the worms will pick up this vibe and think itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s a meal.

Most bristleworms are fine, and won't attack a healthy fish, even if it's stressed. On the other hand, if you need to medicate or do hyposalinity, the bristleworms might not survive, and you probably wouldn't want to dump them into the tank at that point. I'd keep them elsewhere.

I'd move them out and into the tank if you plan on keeping them. Wait to get the butterfly until the quarantine is over for them. Patience is the best thing you can have in this hobby. Is the aptasia in the QT tank on the glass? if so just clean the tank out. or has your QT tank developed into a display of sorts? I always clean out the QT tank after the quarantined critter moves into the display. and then start the QT tank up again when a new critter is aquired.
