do bristles harm zo's or just annoy them? any tips on killing them? im planning for a fourline wrasse a little later. any advie for a new reefer would be good.

Mot likely just annoy them a little but nothing damaging. Typical bristleworms that most people see in the hobby are good. Although I think bristleworms are also called "fireworms," if you google "fireworms" some images of "bad fireworms" will pop up. Usually if they're really colorful they are most likely predators.
The regular brown ones with a little bit of a silvery/metallic sheen on their bellies help keep the tank clean.

I think we all went through that stage where we thought we should get them out. :lmao:

Bristleworms are a great part of your cleanup crew. When I see them getting too big (pencil size) I'll remove it. I leave the little ones alone.

Just like SuperNerd said, I think just about all of us when thru the stage.

i know some one that had a bristleworm eat his clam!!!! when he went to pull out the empty shell the worm was still inside it

when they get huge they could be a problem,

as far as the clam, that could have been something else that killed it and the bristleworm was just cleaning up the scraps.

thanks everyone but i still wish all the polys would open ... i saw what i think is a fireworm sticking out of the zo rock last night but im still going to keep an eye on it be cause this didnt look like the guy that i tried to pull off.
