Broke down and got the Tubs Blues

cwegescheide

YOU have been ignored!
Oh man these things are NICE:eek1: They are incredibly blue and I've only had them for 2 or 3 weeks and already seeing several babies sprouting!! Started with 6 and I already have 10+ I got em from Atlantis Aquarium.net

This is my second attempt at the blues.. The first I think I got ripped off by a fairly popular online vendor. They had a white fungus when I got them and didn't last a week. I was major ticked to say the least.

Awesome, i picked up a frag from a local club member last month. Definately the bluest blues i've seen, the blue is very similar to my Oregon tort. Mine have sprouted about 8 new babies in the month i've had them so they certainly are quick growers!!

I think they are as fast or even faster than my eagle eyes!!

it's so interesting how that varies from person-to-person (or more appropriatly tank-to-tank). in my case, the tubs blues grow great, the eagle eyes are very stagnent, heh!

Now if I could just get my Oregon Tort to take off!!! LOL. Actually most of my acro's I can't complain. I've got a Blue Moon Monti that is absolutely growing like a weed lately. Purplish/Chocolate base with baby blue polyps (very attractive piece) Ahh what the heck I'll post a picture!
This is not a good picture of it at all though. You can't tell how much the polyps pop out and so forth. Very nice looking (I think)

I saw those in peroson when I was in Atlantis last month. They are some of prettiest zoa's I've seen. If you are ever in the Bay Area you should stop by the store, their display tank is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen, and all the corals look just like they do on the web page.

cwegescheide, don't worry about the Org. Tort..it's just a slow grower from everything I've read. Where most SPS you can talk about growth in terms of inches per month, with the Org. Tort it's typically talked about in inches per year..

YOU have acro's that grow inches / month???????? :)

I wish my acro's would grow that fast.. Most of mine grow maybe 1/2" a month if I'm lucky.. LOL With that said several of mine are not that much bigger than 1" frags and if encrusting counts then I'd say that sounds about right.. FWiW I've had my Oregon Tort for about a month or so (also purchased from Atlantis as most of my corals are from there) and its already starting to encrust I've noticed.

I also just treated for red bugs so I'm hoping health, color and growth improves after those pests are gone.

I've had my nub of oregon tort for year. I even have growth pics
First purchased

LOL Sad.....I need my CA reactor hooked up!

HOLY BUCKETS that is all that thing has grown in a year?

I thought we were going month by month growth shots and you forgot to post the rest of the pictures.

Yah thats it. I think its about 10 months. I did have redbugs for awhile, that might have stunted its growth for a period. But man, just a real slow grower.

Impur could you shoot me a pm on who you traded the with to get the blue zoos? Or have them pm me. i would like to set up a trade.
Thanks Randy

Well mine are growing really fast already. Surprising... Probably in a couple months I might even be able to frag these babies..

I've never heard of pods eating zoos. Are you sure they were pods? Are you sure the zoos were healthy?

If these blues grow so fast, why are they still so over priced?

Because people still pay it.... As long as they do the price won't drop...

I have a few different types of blue zoas... I didn't pay anywhere near the prices that others do. To bad my bluest ones are the slowest growing thing I have ever seen... Driving me nutz. I had/have a rogue crab in my display that ate most of these... Sadly I am back to 4 polyps where I started a year ago :(

Oh yeah, about the pods eating zoas? In my frag tank I have tons of huge pods that roam all day long. They are everywhere. (no fish in the frag tank) I have never once heard of a pod eating zoas. I have seen zoas that were dying already that pods finished off, but never seen them eat healthy ones. I have heard of pods nipping at the skirts a bit though...

Just my $0.02
