i purchased a blue life sps bulb and it came in shatter but everything inside was intact even though they replaced the bulb im kinda intrested what would happen if i fired up an bulb without the outter glass case on it i wanna know but dont want to die from being curious
the outer shell of a single ended bulb is the envelop. The bulb may fire if the inner shell is still intact. You expose yourself to an electrocution hazard from the ignitor and filiment leads, as well as UV radiation that would be otherwise filtered by the outer envelope.
Do yourself a favor and throw the broken bulb away.
