Broken Driver

Hi,

I am a UK based reefer, who has foolishly not read the installation instructions for a 6100 stream. :smokin:

Having run them without problems for 8 months, I succesfully (after much effort ;) ) got a drip down the cable, into the blue driver, blowing the circuit board.

Furthermore, upon unwiring, and re-wiring the transformer to the working driver (working out which bit is broken)... I have found I screwed the transformer as well.

Can anyone advise what DC voltage and power capacity the transformer requires...

Many thanks

Elliot

The transformer we use is quite complicated and I can only recommend the Tunze part 7410.202. It has two hot poles and one common and produces 20V AC 60VA. This is for a 6100. For a 6000 you need 7210.202 12V 20VA. The Streams have three safeties and unfortunately shorting the driver can trigger a safety overload fuse in the transformer.

Roger,

Many thanks for your help once again :)

Is it possible to "reset" the fuze in the transformer as at 80 Ã"šÃ‚£ pounds, it is a little pricey.

Thanks

Elliot

Unfortunately no. There actually are two fuses inside- one for thermal overload and one for electrical overload and it could be one or both and neither can be repaired, though the thermal overload will usually automatically reset once cooled to normal operating temp. I have to assume the electrical overload one went.

One suggestion, quite often when a problem occurs within a year even if it is a user error the Dealer will at least offer a discounted part. I usually offer the parts at 25% off for such incidents. It may be worthwhile to ask.
