I've got a few fish getting white spots all over its body, afraid it's brooklynella. as I'm a new tank owner, I'm seeking some opinions. Ive been reading about brook on as many sites as I can find. but was wondering if wholesalers, or shippers, or whoever the middlemen are, have been having problems with it recently. I will be going to the lfs tomorrow to prepare for such an outbreak.

thank you for any info, opinions, and facts that can help me.

Brook does not look like white spots. Brook looks like the skin is sloughing off of the fish. It is much like 3rd degree burns on a human. Formalin is the ONLY thing that will cure this and it MUST be done in a hospital tank EXACTLY as directed.

Without pics, it's hard to diagnose, but from your description, it sounds as if your fish have ich. If so, do not panic. Others will chime in here as to treatment for ich. I always get shouted down when when I give my opinion on ich, so I will refrain. If you want my opinion on ich treatment, that I have had success with, pm me.

ok, it worked. So, this one looks like ich, the goby looks like he has mucous all over him as well as the spots, and not nearly as actively covering all my corals with sand.
