Brown 6000 Series pumps

Roger, i was just wondering about what year the brown powerheads were made?
the 6100 in particular.

They came out in late 2002 I believe and the brown was changed to black in June of 2005. There are date codes stamped into the pump (combo of letters and numbers if I recall)

the one i have out of the tank at the moment has a "4 2 4" stamped in the bottom of the back.
is that what im looking for?

Shawn is correct on the date and 424 would translate to 4th series 2nd quarter 2004.
