brown algae problem - please help!

Same thing happened to me, massive algae problem. Cut the feeding about to half and now its no where near as much green in the mornings once the lights are on.

The way you discribed the brown algea as almost slime with air bubbles leads me to think you may have the same problem as me. Possible Dinoflagellates. I did a search today on RC and 9 posts came up. 1 post had a very good picture and unfortunatly it is what I have. You may want to check it out. Just quick scroll through posts. It is the one with recieding zoos.

Hmmm, not sure. I came across this web site from reefkeeping: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-11/rhf/index.php

I'm not sure what I have is really dino's.

I saw that one also. But when I saw the post with the pic of the brown algea with the air bubbles mixed in with it , there is no doubt that that is what I have. That said, I'm only going by popular belief that the pic is dinos. I know there are different varieties of it with different color variations. Did you get a chance to see the post with the zoos? It's a very good pic.
