Brown Dry Base Rock???

I've been slowly adding dry base rock to my sump to help with filtration. Most of it is white calcium carbonate skeletons from Carib Sea. Great price BTW

I recently purchased some other dry coral base rock from texas which has a brown color. I guess from the Cretaceous Great Barrier Reef. The shape would be much better for aquascaping, a lot like marco rock but at half the price.

I was told that this brown tint is from strontium. Is this true? Has anyone used this type of rock before?

It may be. It might also be dead gunk. Try scrubbing it off.

It's Power Washed.

Just lite brown instead of white.
