Browned out acro still OK?

Picked up a Tabling Green Acro on my last Divers Den order...

After a few days he's browned out on me... But all the polyps still seem open and happy. Will he come back, I hope? I'm still newb for acros. But other acros in the tank seem fine. And my Mont' caps are getting some new growth.

I've gotten sweet sps before from peeps for nothing because they were brown or white. Always have colored back up for me with no problems. Patience is key.

color has a lot to do with nutrients and zooxanthellae, to maintain colors and not "brown up" you should try to reduce NO3 to nero zero. the coral will still be healthy with higher NO3, but browner...

Sometimes this happens. It lookas as if it expelled all its zooxanthellae due to stress / lighting changes / flow changes. It will start to recover in around 2 weeks, but full coloration and health could take a month or two.

I agree patience is key. Just give it some time.

In my tank It's the same. They brown or green, they grow and polyps extended I think they are gasping for life LOL or adapting but after 1 month or so they start coloring up. The key is if they are brown but alive and kicking leave them, don't move them. I used to move them and lost a few that way. If you see they start to get white then move them. Like all the other people here said patience and you will get beautiful stuff in a few months

I would contact the supplier and see if they can give you a credit or at least let them know how bad it came in ..I know they are not cheap and offer some guarantee.

Not sure about bad, it's open... Just not the proper color. The Tabling Acropora (Photo #1, Green) was $39... As acro's I don't think thats bad a at all... Could be a 1" frag of Red Dragon for $99-$120 ;-)
