Browning and less pe w/ nitrate raise?

my no3 went from .02 to 2 in about 6 weeks, during which several of my acro's browned up and showed less PE; i have noticed some folks with higher no3 claim it is "food" for corals, while i agree i have noticed much better sps health with no3 in the .02 range. who agrees? all other parameters were constant and within exceptable ranges.

In my opinion 2 in Nitrates is excessively high... Usually when I see nitrates being seen as "food" for corals it is in Ultra Low Nutrient Systems, and it is thought that there needs to be some Nitrates within the system or it becomes the limiting factor... Just my two cents... Take it for what its worth...
