Does anyone have a picture of one of these running? I read the instructions about how to place the foam disks, and it just seems very very wrong. I can get a picture of mine when I get home from work.
there should be 3 pieces of foam one on top and on bottom of each canister. The third piece is placed differently for each type media.
If it is carbon you are suppose to use the third peice to push all media to the top of the canister kind of making a carbon block so the carbon can not tumble.
For GFO you want it to tumble so place the third sponge at the top of the canister.
Is it normal for the water to look cloudy?
I also don't notice any "tumbling" if the GFO. I'm using an mj1200 to push the water through but the flow through it seems a little slow.
Hmmm. I am using a two little fishy reactor. Two of them. One for gfo and the other for carbon. I noticed that if i didn't rinse well then the gfo reactor is cloudy like rust clay color. I am using a no name pump and getting some but not all to tumple about an inch high. Are you still using the granular gfo from brs.
Is it debris build up after restarting or just a dirty container?
I'm thinking that I didn't rinse well (at all) and the foam is probably clogged with small particles. I think I'll change out the media, and be sure to rinse it all really well.
