BRS RO/DI Systems

From what I see, your paying for a booster pump you may or may not need with that unit. After watching a few utube vids, there seems to be a few issues with that unit. If the "computer" part of that unit goes out, the entire unit is garbage(water and electronics don't mix). I will almost guarantee that at some point you will get water on those electronic parts.

At 240 for the BRS 4 stage 150GPD unit, your saving a few bucks. While it is manual(you need to flip the handle on the flush valve), theres nothing on it that if it goes bad, cannot be replaced and fixed fairly cheap.

Very good point. I'm just going BRS and not looking back. Safer bet. Besides, it'll help pay for those YouTube videos that teach me everything! Thanks for the input, Homer!

YW!

But before you purchase, just going to give a nod to BuckeyeHydro, and Spectrapure as these guys are always on the forums helping people out, they know their isht, and their units are comparable in price.

If you feel a little overwhelmed, these guys can help you out. I've even seen them go so far as having the customer call them, and design a system to meet their needs.

Thanks for the info. I just looked into those two as well. My biggest concern is eliminating as much waste water as possible - which is why I'm heading towards BRS with the water-saver. I hate seeing all that water just flush down the sink (until I build a big system in the garage that I'll recycle the water with)

Thats what I was saying though. With those other 2, you can talk to them and they will design a system to meet your needs instead of just a stock unit like BRS sells. Not that the BRS units are bad, but with a custom designed system you may get more bang for your buck.

The second RO membrane is what cuts your waste production down, which can be added to any system.

I have a 180 gallon tank and bought the Spectrapure CSPDI 90GPD 4 stage w/ TDS meter and flush kit about six months ago. I have a dual auto top off kit for make up water to the sump. Toronto water is supposed to be pretty good around 70 to 130 TDS. I am replacing my di beads and pre-filters just making top off water in 7 to 10 days. What could be wrong? thanks
