IS there an easy way to get rid of this stuff, whats its main cause and is there a surefire thing that will eat it. It is growing in my frag tank which only has some snails and a shrimp.

Any one have some ideas or suggestions?

lettuce nudis eat it.

otherwise pull it out.

if you get your water clean all algae besides coraline goes away. treat it like any other algae; get water cleaner, more flow, feed less....

I think TDS has something to do with it actually. Frigging DI resin isnt scrubbing as good as it should. I just changed it. Is there a break in period for DI resin?

When you do a water change scrub your rock with a tooth brush in a bucket of the water to be thrown out. That way you can keep brushing and dipping the rock. Thats the only way I have found to get rid of it. Of course like they said your water parameters need to be in check.

tweezers, nothing is easy in this hobby unless your name is Nook!

I struggle daily to add a container of water to the 29g for topoff water...I am really getting lazier by the day and have no idea how I will maintain two tanks...perhaps I will just let them go on their own or hire a tank girl.

Actually, thats not bryopsis. LOL
It's Asparagopsis Taxiformis (sp). Mexican Turbo snails eat it! (the red stuff that is)

It doesn't really matter how much you prune it unless you get your nutrients down it will keep coming back. Lettuce nudis will eat it but even if they can keep up, once they die the algae will come back. Feed less, skim more, keep your alk up, utilize a competing algae like Chaetomorpha in a fuge, and if you absolutely must, try a phosphate binder like Phosban

Oh and to answer your first question... No, there is no easy way

Later, Nick

Clean water helps a lot unless you have this stuff...it is actually red unless you take a pic with 20K bulbs. lol This stuff loves clean water but my Scopas seems to love it. I battled with it a long time and in two weeks he has cleaned almost all of it off.
