BTA for the Percs

I picked a decent size BTA from the LFS today and ended up buying the rock it came on since it was locked on and ive been waiting a while now to pick one up.

First time ever owning one, allready ate a couple times having some squid and one of my percs hosted it and loves it although the other perc is left alone now.

I know they eat other fish, crabs or whatever is around them but why don't they consume clownfish, would be so easy to have one for lunch.

I had a video too, try and post it later and the pix is the best I can do with this camera phone.

EDIT: SORRY, MOD can you move me to the correct forum.

One of the theories on why they don't eat clowns is that the same mechanism that protects the clown from the anemone's stings prevents the anemone from really knowing that the clown is even there. Either that, or the little guys have some way of knowing that the clownfish is a friend.

UPDATE

I left a lil over a hour and came back and my BTA has gone missing. The problem is I have no idea where it has gone, so weird.

I FOUND him, he is in that same rock but deep in there. I didn't even think of checking in there cause of the small holes in the rock.

What is causing this, stress from the clown or just stressed or is this normal.

It will take from a week to a month or more for him to settle into his new home. He will probably move several times before he finds his spot.

Best advice is to leave him alone to settle in. Feed him within a week, just a small piece of silverside or raw shrimp and then sit back and enjoy this marvelous creature. He will paobably settle on a rock high to the lights and pretty well stay put.

Just got the same exact BTA at my LFS 3 days ago. These creatures are a trip, aren't they? Mine went for a walk on the first night, upside down along the underside of a rock ledge in th etank. The next day he came popping out of a hole in the rock, and seems to be relatively happy there. My 2 Black False Occ's are all over him 24/7. The female actually bit me when I reached in to move some rock rubble around! Keep us posted, and enjoy the ride!
