BTA happier without clown

My BTA seems much happier since I took Clarkii clown out because of ich. When the clown is in, BTA looks all long and stringy. Since clown is out, it is all bubbled up and inflated. The clown seems to be really ruff on the BTA and I was thinking maybe BTA is too small for the Clarkii.

The clarkii does seem to be on the larger side for that anemone, so that could be part of the issue. Plus the anemone looks a bit bleached too.

Should be darker, and the oral disc should be as white as it appears in the picture.

What are your current water parameters ( with numbers ) and what type of lights do you have.

T5 HO x 4 24w. Nitrite, ammonia 0, nitrates 10. Calcium 440 and dKH 10. Salinity 1.024, ph - low around 7.8 - can't seem to keep it higher.

How long has the tank been setup, and how long has the anemone been in the tank? Also did it look like that when you got it?

What is the temp? The salinity is a tiny bit low ( I prefer 1.026 ) but, the other numbers look pretty good.

As for the pH, is the house closed up?

You will need to find a bigger anemone for your clown. I've had the same problem before. I would buy a healthy specimen and when the clowns get into them the anemone would start looking unhealthy. Some clowns are more physical with their nems and "snuggle" them to death. I've lost a few anemones that way. I'd say buy a nem that is at least 3-4 times larger than the clown..if not bigger.

The house is closed up. The anenome doesn't look that pale in the tank. I think the flash makes it look more bleached. It eats fine. I feed it krill or every 3 or 4 days and it takes it right in. If I got a bigger one, would the clown go in the bigger one or still stay in the smaller one?

The tank has been up for 6 months and the anenome has been in 2 months. It might have been a little darker when I got it but not much.

I'm trying to get salinity up by topping off with saltwater until I get it to 1.026.
