BTA in plastic bowl

So I received a bta from a friend who gave it to me in a small plastic bowl... I thought I could put it in my tank and let it crawl out on it's own.... Will, it's been a couple weeks now and he is still in there...

Is there a way to encourage him to come out?

Make some RO ice cubes. Hold em on the base to get it movin. I've done it many times in my tank after a relocation or split landed the bta too close to a prized coral

Just slowly peel the foot off the bowl. I acclimate stuff in those little plastic bowls. My two rbtas attached to the bowl and then I just used my finger to slowly get it loose and set it on a rock. It also helps if you do it after lights out when they naturally shrivel up.

Thanks! I thought about this but was hoping he would just move himself because I didn't want to chance hurting it. Also, wouldn't it sting you if you touched it like that... had a friend who had a pretty bad reaction to an anemone sting... wasn't a bta though..

Some anemones have a more powerful sting than others. If you wear rubber gloves you should be fine

In the past I have pointed a powerhead near a anemone to encourage him to detach. I had worked well for me. It took a few hours and you have to watch and be ready to grab him when he starts to move. Don't point the powerhead directly at the anemone or you could hurt him. Just close to him so he gets increased indirect flow

You could look into trying that method as well
